To choose a spa in Limpio, first decide what you want (a relaxing massage, a deep-tissue one, a facial or a full spa day with sauna), then message for the treatment menu with price, real duration and who will treat you. Before booking, check that the Ministry of Health licence is on display; and if they offer injectables or fillers, that is not the place for it.
What kind of visit suits you?
- Relaxing massage: to unwind after the week. Ask how many minutes are actually on the table, not the length of the whole slot.
- Deep-tissue or sports massage: for a knot or regular training. Mention any injury, recent surgery or pregnancy beforehand; if pain persists, see a doctor.
- Facial or skin treatment: cleansing, hydration, exfoliation. Ask which products they use.
- Spa day: sauna, steam or hot tub plus a massage. Not every place has these facilities, so ask explicitly and confirm what the price includes.
Where to look in Limpio
Limpio is about 19 km from Asunción and has grown along Route PY03 (Wikipedia (opens in a new tab)). Besides the Centro, look in barrios such as Piquete Cue, Salado or San Marcos so you do not have to cross town: search "spa", "masajes" and "estética" on your phone's map and save two or three near home or work.
If you are combining it with shopping, the area with the most parking is on PY03 at Plaza Norte, opposite Abasto Norte (320 car and 30 motorbike spaces, per ABC Color (opens in a new tab)). Coming from Asunción without a car at night, the Búho B2 bus runs between Asunción and Limpio (La Nación (opens in a new tab)).
How to tell if a place is licensed
Paraguay's health regulator, the Superintendencia de Salud, advises checking that beauty centres hold a Ministry of Health licence displayed in the waiting room: "if it is not there, common sense says ask" (Hoy (opens in a new tab)). In 2023 it temporarily closed a laser hair-removal centre without those papers after a client was burned.
For a massage or a basic facial, a tidy licensed place is enough. If they offer anything more invasive, stop there.
What should not be done at a spa
The Paraguayan Society of Aesthetic Medicine says aesthetic medicine procedures are a medical act: they must be done by a doctor, in a clinic licensed by the Ministry of Health and the Superintendencia de Salud, and not in spas, hair salons or at home. Products must be registered with Dinavisa, the national health products agency (La Nación (opens in a new tab)).
On 7 October 2026 Dinavisa warned about units of the facial injectables Sculptra and Power col-tra that lack sanitary registration and entered the country through unauthorised channels. It urged people to demand proof of registration and origin before any procedure; reports go to postcomercializacion@dinavisa.gov.py (ABC Color (opens in a new tab)). If a spa offers fillers at a promo price, walk away.
What to ask before booking
- Final price, minutes on the table and whether shower, sauna or steam are included.
- Who gives the massage and what training they have.
- Whether they take a deposit and the cancellation policy.
- Payment: QR is now Paraguay's most used electronic method, 68.1% of payments processed by Bancard in April 2026 (ABC Color (opens in a new tab)); still ask whether they take cards or cash.
- Whether you get an invoice. Law 1334 requires prices to be shown with taxes included (Law 1334 (opens in a new tab)).
Getting the most out of your visit
- Summer highs in Limpio approach 40 °C (Wikipedia (opens in a new tab)): book morning or late-afternoon slots and ask whether the room is air-conditioned.
- Arrive 10 minutes early so you do not lose table time, and avoid a heavy meal just before.
- If it is a gift, ask for a voucher that states service, duration and expiry date.
Next step: send the same message to two spas in Limpio with the service you want and your preferred time, and pick the one that answers price, duration and licence in writing.
