In this guide
Limpio has very few hotels: as of October 2026, Booking shows only eight places to stay (opens in a new tab) for the city, and several of the results are actually in Luque, near the airport, or in Asunción. So decide what you are coming for first. For the river and Piquete Cué, look inside Limpio; for work in Asunción or an early flight, Luque or Mariano Roque Alonso usually work better.
What will you find inside Limpio?
Not much, and more homes and apartments rented by the night than classic hotels. Booking's Limpio search shows, among others, a house with a pool and several apartments; the remaining cards are hotels in Luque and Asunción that the site labels as "nearby" (Booking (opens in a new tab)). In practice:
- Check the exact pin on the map, not the city name in the listing.
- For a house or apartment, ask who hands over the keys, at what time, and who you can call at night.
- Compare the same dates on two platforms: with so few options, one cancellation changes everything.
Which area should you stay in?
- Limpio, near Route PY03: the highway is the city's spine, about 19 km from Asunción (Wikipedia (opens in a new tab)). Opposite the Abasto Norte market is the Plaza Norte mall, with parking for 320 cars (ABC Color (opens in a new tab)), so you can eat without driving far.
- Piquete Cué and the river: if you are here for the Jardín del Yacaré Yrupé, at Hernandarias and Calle 18, where boatmen work from 06:30 to 19:00 (Bienvenido a Paraguay (opens in a new tab)), staying close lets you get on the water early, before the heat.
- Luque or Mariano Roque Alonso: Silvio Pettirossi airport is in Luque (Wikipedia (opens in a new tab)), and Mariano Roque Alonso borders Limpio, Luque and Asunción (Wikipedia (opens in a new tab)). For an early flight or meetings in the capital, you get more hotels to compare there.
How do you get between Limpio and Asunción?
- By car, leave a buffer on PY03. In April 2026, parked soybean trucks caused a 5–6 km queue from central Limpio to the Mariano Roque Alonso boundary (Última Hora (opens in a new tab)). Check live traffic before you leave.
- In heavy rain, ask about the streams. In April 2024 the Itay and Damián streams overflowed, cars were swept away and people were rescued in Piquete Cué (Última Hora (opens in a new tab)). If it pours, ask your host which roads are open.
- At night without a car: since December 2025 the Búho B2 night bus links Asunción and Limpio via Avenida San José and PY03 (La Nación (opens in a new tab)); the Búho network runs from 22:00 to 03:30 (Última Hora (opens in a new tab)). Ask how far the stop is from your room.
What should you ask before booking?
Get the answers in writing, by WhatsApp or email:
- Total price per night with taxes, and what it includes. Paraguay's consumer law (Ley 1334) (opens in a new tab) requires the total price and payment method of a service to be disclosed.
- Air conditioning: Limpio reaches about 40 °C in summer (Wikipedia (opens in a new tab)). Make sure it works in the bedroom.
- Parking: whether it is enclosed, on site, and big enough for a pickup.
- Late arrival: until what time they check you in, and how entry works after that.
- Deposit and cancellation: how much you pay upfront and what happens if you cancel.
- Invoice: Sedeco, the consumer agency, reminds that every sale requires an invoice (opens in a new tab). Ask for one.
When should you book further ahead?
With so few beds in town, any special date shows:
- December and January: when the giant yacaré yrupé water lilies usually appear in the Piquete Cué lagoons (Wikipedia (opens in a new tab)).
- September: Abasto Norte hosts the Paseo de las Flores plant fair; in 2026 it ran from 17 to 21 September (ABC Color (opens in a new tab)).
- Feast of Saint Joseph, the city's patron (Wikipedia (opens in a new tab)): check the dates of the celebrations with the parish before you travel.
If your trip overlaps with one of these, book as soon as you have dates and save the confirmation.
