To choose a consultant in Capiatá, first pin down what you need solved: tax and bookkeeping, setting up or formalising the business, an employment or legal issue, or general management. Then ask two advisers for a written proposal with scope, deadlines and fees, and go with the one who answers everything clearly. Before paying, check whether you can do part of the work for free: setting up an EAS company costs nothing with the standard statutes, and there's a public small-business support centre in San Lorenzo, a short way down Route PY02.

What kind of advice does your business need?

Capiatá runs on commerce and small industry, including metalworking and chemical workshops, and banks and cooperatives cluster along Route PY02 and the D027 (Wikipedia (opens in a new tab)). Depending on your case:

  • Bookkeeping and tax: monthly returns, ledgers and invoicing. Look for someone who works with Marangatú and electronic invoicing at the DNIT (opens in a new tab), the tax authority, where returns are filed.
  • Setting up or formalising the company: an adviser adds value with several partners, large contributions or custom statutes. A simple case you can handle yourself (see below).
  • Employment and legal: contracts, dismissals, debt collection or claims. Anyone representing you in court must be a lawyer registered with the Supreme Court (opens in a new tab).
  • Management, costs and pricing: for a workshop or family shop, start with a free training course and hire a consultant only for what's left.

Do you need an adviser to open an EAS?

Not always. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIC) (opens in a new tab), the Empresa por Acciones Simplificadas (simplified joint-stock company):

  • Is registered online at eas.mic.gov.py, through SUACE.
  • With standard statutes, is set up within 72 hours at zero cost.
  • Has no minimum or maximum capital, and each partner is liable up to their contribution.
  • Requires the legal representative to log in with their electronic ID and to be Paraguayan or hold a Paraguayan cédula.

Between February 2021 and November 2024, 13,744 companies were created this way (La Nación (opens in a new tab)). If you're a sole partner using standard statutes, save the adviser's budget for the tax work that follows. For your premises' business licence (patente comercial), ask at the Municipalidad de Capiatá on Route PY02 km 23.5 (Municipalidad de Capiatá (opens in a new tab)).

The SBDC San Lorenzo business development centre is an initiative of the MIC's small-business vice-ministry run by the Unión Industrial Paraguaya, offering technical assistance and training for entrepreneurs and small firms (UIP (opens in a new tab)). According to Última Hora (July 2025) (opens in a new tab), its workshops ran on Thursdays from 14:00 to 16:00 on the third floor of Ceprocal-UPA, Lope de Vega and San Antonio, free of charge, with limited places and registration on (0976) 911-198. Topics included costs and pricing, planning, wages and productivity, and in November 2025 legal issues for small firms were added (Última Hora (opens in a new tab)). From Capiatá, take the PY02 towards Asunción; call to confirm the current schedule before going.

The MIC is also building a national network of business development centres offering technical assistance and help with formalisation, working with local councils (Última Hora, July 2026 (opens in a new tab)). Ask at the Municipalidad whether sessions are planned in Capiatá.

What to check before hiring an adviser

  • They issue invoices: every sale of goods and services requires a factura (Sedeco via ABC Color (opens in a new tab)). Ask for their RUC tax number and an invoice for each payment.
  • They aren't barred: the DNIT publishes lists of businesses barred for tax sanctions and of taxpayers in arrears (DNIT (opens in a new tab)). If someone will handle your taxes, they shouldn't be on them.
  • Their registration number, if they're a lawyer: ask before you sign a power of attorney.
  • Scope in writing: what they deliver, by when, and what costs extra, such as amended returns or additional meetings.
  • How they flag deadlines: in bookkeeping, the real value is never missing a date. Ask whether they send a calendar or reminders.

How to set up the first meeting

  • Bring a one-page summary: what your business does, how many staff you have, what you need to decide and by when.
  • Hold the first conversation by video call and keep the in-person meeting for reviewing or signing documents, so you don't lose a morning in PY02 traffic.
  • Compare with advisers in San Lorenzo or Asunción who work remotely too. What matters is a clear proposal, not an office round the corner.

FAQ

Do I need an adviser to set up a company in Capiatá?

Not always. An EAS with standard statutes is registered online at eas.mic.gov.py within 72 hours at no cost; an adviser helps with several partners or custom statutes.

Is there free small-business advice near Capiatá?

Yes, SBDC San Lorenzo (MIC and UIP) offers technical assistance and free workshops. In 2025 they ran on Thursdays 14:00 to 16:00 at Ceprocal-UPA; confirm on (0976) 911-198.

How do I know an accountant is in good standing?

Ask for their RUC and an invoice for every payment, and check they're not on the DNIT's published lists of barred businesses or taxpayers in arrears.

Should I hire in Capiatá or in Asunción?

Compare on the clarity of the proposal, not distance: many advisers work remotely, and the in-person meeting can wait until there are papers to sign.
