In this guide
Clothes shopping in Asunción comes down to three options: the malls along the Villa Morra–Aviadores del Chaco axis for brands and air conditioning, Unicentro on Palma and 15 de Agosto for dressing the whole family in one stop, and Mercado 4 when price is what matters. Choose by occasion and budget, and check the day, because Sunday hours differ a lot between them.
Looking for brands? The Aviadores del Chaco malls
The three are close together, so you can compare in one afternoon.
- Paseo La Galería (Avda. Santa Teresa between Aviadores del Chaco and Herminio Maldonado). Its official site (opens in a new tab) lists 120 national and international brands on 3 levels. Shops open Monday to Thursday 9:00–21:00, Friday, Saturday and holiday eves 9:00–22:00, and Sunday 10:00–21:00. About 3,200 covered parking spaces were announced at its opening (La Nación, 2016 (opens in a new tab)).
- delSol (Avda. Aviadores del Chaco and Profesora Delia González). This is the former Shopping del Sol, rebranded as delSOL (InfoNegocios (opens in a new tab)). Its website (opens in a new tab) does not post general hours, so call ahead if you go early or on a holiday.
- Shopping Mariscal (Quesada 5050 between Charles de Gaulle and Tte. Zotti, Villa Morra). According to its official site (opens in a new tab), shops open Monday to Saturday 9:00–21:00 and Sunday 10:00–21:00; ABC Color (opens in a new tab) also places it at Quesada and Charles de Gaulle.
Tip: to try things on without a queue, go on a weekday early afternoon. Car parks and fitting rooms fill up at weekends.
Clothes for the whole family in one place? Unicentro
Unicentro (opens in a new tab) is a family fashion chain with its flagship on the corner of Palma and 15 de Agosto, right downtown. It sells women's, men's, children's and baby clothes, shoes and school uniforms, among other things.
- Casa Central (Palma and 15 de Agosto): Monday to Saturday 08:30–19:00; Sundays and holidays 11:00–18:00 (Unicentro (opens in a new tab)).
- Shopping Mariscal (Block B): Monday to Saturday 09:00–21:00; Sundays and holidays 10:00–21:00.
- With the Tarjeta Unicentro store card they advertise up to 6 interest-free instalments.
It is the practical choice for back-to-school shopping or when you need to dress several ages in one trip.
Cheapest option? Mercado 4
Mercado Municipal N° 4 (opens in a new tab) is at Rodríguez de Francia and Perú in barrio Pettirossi, and over the years it has spread into San Roque, Ciudad Nueva and Pinozá. Besides fruit, vegetables and food stalls, it has plenty of clothing shops.
- When to go: early morning, when it is cooler and quieter. For the 2025 holidays the city ran "Battilana de noche", with shops on calle Battilana (between Rodríguez de Francia and República de Colombia) open 5:00–21:00, clothing included, and said it would repeat every 15 days or once a month (La Nación (opens in a new tab)). Check the municipality's social pages for dates before going at night.
- Getting there: park well away or take a bus or ride-hailing app; Pettirossi, Rodríguez de Francia and Perú get congested.
- What to bring: cash in small notes, your own bag and clothes that are easy to slip on and off, since not every stall has a fitting room.
