- For a massage or a facial, stay in town and pick a slot that does not clash with your errands.
- For a full spa day, a sauna or a specific treatment, you will probably need to drive down Route PY07 to Ciudad del Este. Plan the round trip and do not book the session straight after hours at the wheel.
What to ask before booking

When must it be licensed by the Health Ministry?
For a massage, what matters is hygiene, a clean table and who treats you. For laser hair removal, fillers, botulinum toxin or any procedure with devices or injections, the rules change:
- The Paraguayan Society of Aesthetic Medicine says these procedures are medical acts, to be done in clinics licensed by the Health Ministry and the Superintendencia de Salud using DINAVISA-registered products, and advises against having them in spas, salons or at home (La Nación, 2023 (opens in a new tab)).
- In 2023 the Superintendencia de Salud shut an unlicensed centre after a client was burned during laser hair removal, and asked that licences be displayed in the waiting room (Hoy, 2023 (opens in a new tab)). If you cannot see it, ask.
