Entertainment in Lambaré, just south of Asunción, splits between Avenida Cacique Lambaré, home to Strike Bowling and the shopping arcades, and the riverfront: the Costanera Sur, Cerro Lambaré and the small Puerto Pabla beach. For a family day, add the central square, the Casa de la Cultura and Eco Parque Felicidad; for go-karts, the nearest public track is at the Karting Club Paraguayo grounds in Luque.

Costanera Sur and Cerro Lambaré at sunset

  • Costanera Sur. An 8.1 km riverside avenue from Avenida Colón in Asunción to Cerro Lambaré, with wide sidewalks, a bike lane and a 1,000 m linear park with 13 food outlets, playgrounds, sand volleyball courts and an amphitheatre (Última Hora, 2024 (opens in a new tab)). It opened on 20 July 2024 (ABC Color (opens in a new tab)). Arrive an hour before sunset, walk or cycle, and bring water and repellent in summer.
  • Cerro Lambaré and the Monumento a la Paz Victoriosa. The hill sits on the river in Asunción's Jukyty neighbourhood, right on the Lambaré boundary; the summit has a viewpoint with the monument, finished in 1982, and the statue of chief Lambaré, and visits have grown since the Costanera Sur opened (Wikipedia (opens in a new tab)). Go in daylight: it was neglected and unsafe for years (ABC Color, 2022 (opens in a new tab)).
  • Puerto Pabla municipal beach. A small beach on the Paraguay River, good for fishing and birdwatching (Wikipedia (opens in a new tab)). Check municipal notices before swimming.

Where can you go karting near Lambaré?

The nearest public karting is outside town: KCP Karting Outdoor, on the Karting Club Paraguayo grounds in Luque. In July 2024 a roughly 10-minute race cost G. 50,000 (gloves and balaclava G. 10,000 extra), with 14 adult karts and 3 junior karts for riders 1.25–1.45 m tall; bookings ran by WhatsApp Wednesday to Friday, with weekends first come, first served (Infonegocios (opens in a new tab)). The club also runs the national championship at the Kartódromo del Parque de la Velocidad in Ñu Guasú (ABC Color, 2025 (opens in a new tab)). Check prices and hours on its Instagram first.

A riverside splurge

The Yacht y Golf Club Paraguayo, a resort hotel with sports facilities and a private beach on the river (Wikipedia (opens in a new tab)), is one of the town's best-known businesses (Infonegocios (opens in a new tab)); its listing mentions restaurants and poolside bars (Hotels.com (opens in a new tab)). Call to ask whether non-guests are welcome.

Getting around and timing

  • From Asunción: the Costanera Sur gets you to Lambaré without Avenida Félix Bogado (ABC Color (opens in a new tab)).
  • From Villa Elisa: Avenida Defensores del Chaco gets long jams (Última Hora (opens in a new tab)); allow extra time at rush hour.
  • In heavy rain: the municipality has warned drivers off several Cacique Lambaré crossings, including Río Apa, Humaitá, Héroes del 70 and Juan Bautista Rivarola (ABC Color, 2023 (opens in a new tab)). Pick bowling or the mall that day.
  • At night: order a ride-hailing car and wait indoors, especially around the hill or the riverfront.
