In Mariano Roque Alonso, clothes shopping happens along Route PY03 (the old Transchaco): that is where Shopping Mariano sits, with women's, men's, unisex and shoe stores, and also La Rural Shopping. To compare several brands in one trip, start at Shopping Mariano; for something specific, message the store first to check size and stock.

Where to buy clothes in Mariano Roque Alonso

Shopping Mariano opening hours

According to its website, stores open Monday to Saturday 9:00–21:00, and Sundays and public holidays 10:00–21:00. The food court runs Sunday to Thursday 11:00–23:00 and until midnight on Friday and Saturday (official site (opens in a new tab)). The mall's phone is 021 762 002, with a WhatsApp contact on the same page.

Handy extra: the National Police ID office (Departamento de Identificaciones) operates inside Shopping Mariano (ABC Color, 2022 (opens in a new tab)), so you can renew a cédula and shop in one trip.

When to avoid the area

Every July the Expo, Paraguay's main agricultural and trade fair, runs for about two weeks at the Asociación Rural del Paraguay grounds (Wikipedia (opens in a new tab)). In 2026 it ran from 11 to 26 July with general admission at G. 25,000 (ABC Color (opens in a new tab)). Since Shopping Mariano sits a few metres from the Expo entrance, traffic and parking get tight on those days: if you only want clothes, go on a weekday morning.

Outside July, Saturday afternoons and Sundays are busiest, as shoppers come in from Limpio, Villa Hayes, Luque, Emboscada and Asunción (ABC Color, 2022 (opens in a new tab)).

How to choose a store

  • Know what you need: everyday wear, workwear, uniforms, kids' clothes or an outfit for an event. The mall directory groups stores by category.
  • Ask about exchanges: many shops exchange with receipt and tag within a set period; get the rule before you pay, especially on sale items.
  • Sizes: if you are buying for someone else, bring measurements (chest, waist, inseam). Brazilian and local brands do not always size the same.
  • Payment: ask about bank-card or e-wallet discounts; malls often run day-specific promotions.
  • Alterations: ask whether they do hems or adjustments, or can recommend a tailor nearby.

Coming from Asunción

Mariano Roque Alonso borders Asunción and is reached via the PY03; the Remanso bridge links the city to the Chaco (Wikipedia (opens in a new tab)). If you are coming from Villa Hayes or the Chaco, Shopping Mariano is on your way before you reach the capital. From central Asunción, allow extra time in the evening rush, when outbound Transchaco traffic builds up.
